Mrs. Gertrude Nicholson Wilson's Obituary
Sister Gertrude Wilson was born October 4, 1943 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to the late Henry and Margaret Nicholson. To that union, eight children were born and she was the last survivor of the eight.
She confessed Christ and united with Mendon Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Porterville, MS where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was employed at Jeff Anderson Medical center in Meridian, MS for 28 years where she retired.
Sister Wilson departed this earthly life to be with her Savior on November 5, 2013 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS.
she leaves to cherish her loving memories to her late sisters children that she helped raise as her own: Vivian (Lurenzy) Jackson and Shirley N. Gibbs, both of Lauderdale, MS; Essie (Jesse) Fortner of Belleville, IL; Edna Nealy, Linda Nixon and her friend Tony Penry all of Marion, MS; Archie & Darren Grace both of Lauderdale, MS; Curtis (Kimberly) Grace of
Meridian, MS; Demario Nicholson of Meridian, MS; Timothy Nixon of Lauderdale, MS; one aunt, Cherry Nicholson of Sandusky, OH, two uncles, Harvey Nicholson of Sandusky, OH and Eugene Nicholson of New Orleans, LA; a faithful and devoted friend she loved as a brother, Edward Gibbs and three friends she loved as sisters: Ora D. Gaines, Bessie Killens and Mattie Hardy; a host of other nieces and nephews of four generations, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.
