Mrs. Gladys Pollard Brown's Obituary
On August 16, 1951 the late Frank and Betty Pollard sent a jubilant proclamation throughout the countryside. It’s a girl, it’s a girl! They named her Gladys Pollard.
As a child, Gladys attended Middleton Attendance Center. Reared in a stalwart Christian home she was led to Christ for salvation and confessed her hope in Him as a child.
Gladys was the proud mother of three children and left with a great legacy: three awesome children: two sons, Hilton Brown Jr., Jelani Brown and one daughter, Yolanda Machelle Williams; one son-in-law, James Williams; three sisters, Beatrice Morton, Frances Godfrey, Shernia Pollard; one brother, Frank Pollard (Toni) all of Meridian, MS; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Miller & Harold Farley; five grandchildren, Courtney Bourrage of DeKalb, MS, Jelani Brown, Jr., Brittney Clayton and Whitney Brown, all of Meridian, MS; one aunt, Geneva Hill and one uncle, Malcolm Spinks, both of Meridian, MS; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty Pollard; three sisters, Martha Bolden, Sadie Farley and Dorothy Wooten; one brother, Curtis Lee Pollard and a special friend, Donald Williams.
