Gloria was a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved life and she was always fun to be around. She always left you with a smile on your face. She loved her children and her grandchildren dearly, telling them not to call het grandma or granny but to call her "Big Momma." Her greatest wish for her family was for them all to love one another. She was a faithful member to her church while she was able to get around on her own and after she became ill, she rededicated her life to the Lord.
She left behind one sister, Vera Scott of Meridian, MS and two brothers, Eddie James Wiggins and Willie Ben Wiggins, both of Chicago, IL.
Gloria was the mother of eleven children: James Allen (deceased); Willie Sims, Jr. of Springfield, I’ll; Bessie Mae Sims; Lula Thedford of Meridian, MS; Lillie Heidelberg of Savoy, MS; Katie Sims Rushing of Meridian, MS; Kenneth Sims of Lawton, OK; Calvin Sims, Henry Earl Sims, Henry James Sims and Bertha Sims, all of Meridian, MS.
She also leaves to cherish her memories; thirty-four grandcliildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
In closing, there are so many things that we can recall about our mom ... her beautiful smile, her contagious laughter, her bright spirit. Most of all, she gave us life. And that life was built upon love. We have that love now to hold us together as a family in her absence. The Lord allowed us to have and love our mom for 87 years but now He has chosen to take her home to be with Him. Farewell, Momma! We will all miss you so very much. Love, your children.
