Deacon Greenberry Ruffin was born February 18, 1943 in Riderwood, AL to the late Edgar and Reginia Ruffin.
A Time to Live
Deacon Greenberry Ruffin graduated from T J Harris High School in 1965. He attended Mississippi Valley State University until he was drafted into the United States Army. After returning home from the military he married Tommie Jean McClendon Ruffin. To this union three boys were born. He was a Meridian Wildcat fan and could be found in the stands of all the home football and basketball games. He served as a faithful deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for over 44 years.
A Time of Sadness
Deacon Greenberry Ruffin departed this life on December 8, 2016 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was preceeded in death by his father, Egar Ruffin; mother, Reginia Ruffin; brothers, DZ Ruffin and Ulysses Ruffin; sisters, Dorothy Dobson and Ouida Altman; and his beloved son Dedric Ruffin.
A Time of Rememberance · , Deacon Greenberry Ruffin left to cherish his memories two sons, Tremayne (Stephanie) Ruffin of Meridian, MS, and Jeremy (Johanna) Ruffin of San Antonio, TX, a daughter-in-law, Shreka Knight, his sister Betty Ann Favors and a brother Robert Earl Ruffin, his grandchildren, Tramaiya, Jada, Deidra, Jamiya, , Tremayne, Ashleigh, Ariya and Skylar; and a host of nieces and nephews.
