Mrs. Guyoria Jack Benamon's Obituary
Guyoria Jack Benamon was born Wednesday, November 8, 1933 to Authur Jack and Mary "Mae" Adams Jack in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. During her youth, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and joined Brown Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS. Some years later, she joined New Vision Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS under the pastoral leadership of Bishop William C. Brown. She remained active and faithful to her church until her health failed. Guyoria was married to John Lee Benamon, the son of Dan Benamon, Jr. and Juanita Rush Benamon, for over 70 years. They wed in November 1950 and from this union, seven children (five sons and two daughters), were born. She departed her earthly life on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at her residence in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. Psalm 90:10 says: "The days of our years are three score years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be four score years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away". Mrs. Benamon, age 88, was blessed to live four score and eight years. She passed away exactly one week prior to her 89th birthday. Welcoming her arrival to her new heavenly home are: husband, John Lee Benamon; daughter, Lenora Benamon Bourrage; grandsons, Herbert Bourrage, Jr. and Clyde DeUndra Benamon; son-in-law, Leonard Naylor; father, Authur Jack; mother, Mary "Mae" Adams Jack; sisters, Bobbie Mae Butler, Mattie B. Lloyd, Annie Mae Butler, and Gloria Cherry; and brothers, Leonard Jack, Dolen Greer, David Jack, Roscoe Jack, and Douglas Jack. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memories: six children -five sons, Robert Earl Benamon (June) of Indianapolis, IN; Johnny Benamon (Carol) of Marion, AR; Clyde Benamon (Brenda) of DeKalb, MS; Roy Benamon (Lisa) and Melvin Benamon, both of Meridian, MS; one daughter, Vineta Benamon Naylor of DeKalb, MS; one sister, Annie Jean Jack of Bronx, NY; three sisters-in-law, Liz Jackson of Rock Island, IL; Leona Cole of Preston, MS; and Nona Mae Butler of DeKalb, MS; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great pephews, cousins, and friends.
