Mr. Harold T. Sims' Obituary
Harold Tyrone Sims, or "Doe Doe", as he was affectionately known, was born to the Rev. John Edward and Henrietta Jean Sims on August 9, 1954. Harold grew up and lived many years in the Savoy Community. As a child, he joined New Prospect with his family. Harold graduated from Meridan High School in 1972. He began his work career and eventually landed at Mississippi Chemical, where he spent nearly 20 years. As a young man, Harold had a love for all things fast. He owned several muscle cars, two Mustangs and a Challenger. He also owned several motorcycles. Harold lived life to the fullest while able. Never hesitating to make time for family in all his living. Sure he was known to grumble and fuss, but in the end he was there when needed. Later in life, Harold began a greeting card ministry. He never missed passing out cards to famiy for the big three, Christmas, Easter, and Mother's Day, as well as individual birtdays. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John Sims, brothers: Charles Lindberg Ruffin, and Douglas McComb; grandparents Willis and Myrtis Ruffin, and granddaughter, Angel. Harold leaves to cherish his memories mother, Henrietta·. Sims; a very devoted partner Debra Ramsey; daughters, Demetris Pittman (Demond), June Goodwin; son, Harold Sims, Jr.; brothers, Michael Sims (Flanika), John Sims; sister, Sanpier Sims; five grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
