Mr. Harold Wilson's Obituary
Harold Wilson was born December 1, 1952, in Meridian, MS, to Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Jane Wilson. He received his formal education at Clarksdale Attendance Center. He was a dedicated worker at Kimberll Roofing Lumber Company until his health failed. He was a self taught carpenter. Harold was very compassionate and was loved by all who knew him, especially the children who affectionately called him "Papa Hal." He loved and collected all kinds of hats. Although he enjoyed sports, fishing, and hunting, he loved helping people more. When he moved to Quitman (Elwood Community) in 1982, he took the community by storm and was grafted into the McGee and Dear Family. Harold was a hard worker, and he volunteered to help his neighbors save money by being their carpenter and plumber. He grilled and worked each year to ensure the success of "Elwood Community Day." (He always burned the meat). When the McGee's teased him, his reply was: "I bet you, it ain't none left." He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Natalie (Carlos) Smith; two grandchildren Ja'Kobe Wilson and Jalen Smith; a special companion, Sharron Dear; two sisters, Willie Elaine (Allen) Nobels, Charlotte, North Carolina; Anita Yvonne Wilson, Meridian, MS; Five brothers, Glen Wilson, Philadelphia, MS; Linnon (Renee) Wilson, Flint, Michigan; Earl (Betty) Wilson, and George Wilson, Meridian, MS; and :Michael (Rosalind) Wilson, Jacksonville, Arkansas; one aunt, Annie Beatrice Coleman, Meridian, MS, five surrogate children, Valorie, Brenda, Johnnie, Jr., Tyree, and the late Kenneth Maurice Dear; fifteen surrogate grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
