Mr. Harvey Lewis Reed's Obituary
Harvey L. Reed was born July 15, 1943 in Whynot, Mississippi to the late Clarence and Clara Bell Reed He departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He confessed to Christ at an early age and united with New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Whynot, Mississippi.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Clara Bell Reed; sisters, Dorothy & Mamie Reed; brothers, Fred Reed, Joe Reed and Leslie Reed.
Harvey leaves to cherish a devoted wife of twenty-nine years, Girlee Reed; to this union one child was born, Clarett Waters.
He leaves to cherish five daughters five daughters Jennifer Lowe (Lou) and Lisa Lowe, both of Marion, MS. Carlenza (Freeman) Walker of Lauderdale, MS, Karen (Phillip) King of Conyers, GA; Clarett (Skylar) Waters of McCallie, AL. One son Kerry (LaToya) Lowe of Bessemer, AL; two sisters: Lillie Parnell and Lela Bell both of Grand Rapids, MI. Two brothers : Clarence Reed and James (Diane) Reed both of Whynot, MS; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and two aunts, Thelma Johnson of Meridian, MS and Lillian Kelly of Grand Rapids, MI and two sisters-in-law Cathie Smiley (Tommy) and Pearlie Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives who loved him dearly. One uncle, Elder Eddie (Cora) Mathews of Grand Rapids, MI and a step mother-in-law, Annie Marie Clayton of Meridian, MS.
