Mr. Henry Lee Smith's Obituary
Henry Lee Smith was born on July 5, 1921 to the late Eli Smith Sr., and Johnnie B. Bland Smith in Quitman, Mississippi. He was raised and educated in Quitman. He joined Little Zion United Methodist Church in Stonewall, Mississippi. He left the south at an early age and joined the United States Anny where he honorably served his country during World War IL He settled in Chicago Illinois where he met and married Dorothy Mae Smith. Henry departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by both parents, Eli, and Johnnie B. Smith; his wife Dorothy Smith, Siblings: Thomas Smith, John L. Smith, Eli Smith Jr., Carrie Mae Ruffin, Christy Bell Brown and Ethel Mae Simmons, and one son: Robert Lee Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories: Two daughters, Pamela Buchanan and Patrice Smith of Chicago, IL; Sons: Kevin Smith of California and Deren Smith of Wisconsin. His partner of 25 years, Ms. Lucy Davis of Newton, MS; Three Sisters: Betty Jean Cameron, Vernell Blakely and Tommie Jean Collins, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
