Mr. Hildred Walter Young's Obituary
Hildred Young was born December 28, 1935 in Crandall, MS to the union of Mary and Roland Young. He was a faithful member of the New Mt. Zion Methodist Church where he served until his health failed.
He was a graduate of Shirley Owens High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 where he served his country faithfully. Hildred was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lou Vera Turner and resided in Chicago, IL. To this union, one daughter, Pamela Joyce Young was born.
Hildred was employed with Comcast Cable and Schulze and Burch Bakery of Chicago, IL. He later moved back to Shubuta in 2001 and was employed with The Mississippi Laminators.
On February 25, 2024, Hildred departed his life at his home in Subuta, MS. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Young; his parents, Mary and Roland Young Sr.; five brothers, Mack, Roosevelt, Wychff, Roy and Roland Young Jr.
Hildred leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Lou Vera Young; three grandchildren, Rashad Wallace, Rakeem Young and Rosbundra Young; three great-grandchildren, Nalon and Navon Jonson and Phoenix Joyce Wallace; four sisters, Jean (Horace) Pace, Juanita Young, Doris (Marc) Anthony and Sara Ann Young; four sister-in-laws, Joyce (Houston) Jury, Minnie Reese McCarty, Ella Reese Gray, Pearlie Kerr; two special nephews, Phylandus Turner and Derry/McCarty; two special friends, Purvis Gray and Roosevelt Williams.
