Mr. Howard Everett Gordon's Obituary
Howard Everett Gordon was. born on August 13, 1949 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Havord and Mary Gordon. He was the youngest of six children born to this union. Howard was educated in the Meridian Public School System. At an early age, he joined Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served faithfully until his death. Howard united in Holy Matrimony to the forever love of his life, Lavonne Byrd Gordon on February 10, 1970. On Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the age of seventy one (71) years old, the Lord called Howard from labor to rest. He was preceded in death by his parents: Havord and Mary Gordon; one sister, Gloria Gordon; three brothers: OC Gordon, CO Gordon and Eugene Gordon; and one nephew, Q'Daun Charles Gordon. He leaves to forever cherish his memories: six children: Anthony Byrd (Marilyn), Annie Byrd (Doug), Pauline Gordon (Billy), Greg Gordon (Patricia,) and Howard Gordon, Jr, all of Meridian, MS, and Bakhri Gordon of California; eight grandchildren: Jonathan Byrd (Ashley), William Byrd, Pierre Byrd and Robert Byrd all of Meridian, MS; Roshaad Byrd (Angela) of Kansas City, Demarcus Miller of Atlanta, GA; Jermario Gordon (Korbin) of Houston, TX, and Sydney Gordon of South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; one brother: Willie Gordon of Meridian, MS; one half-brother: Darrius Gordon of Detroit, MI; and one sister-in-law: Mattie Gordon of Meridian, MS; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
