Mrs. Ida Mae Hill Croft's Obituary
Ida Mae Hill Croft was born on July 2, 1953 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Roscoe and Geneva Hill. Throughout the life of Ms. Ida Croft, she had a passion for living her life for Christ and for her family. At an early age, she welcomed Christ into her life and became an active member of New Era Missionary Baptist Church. She later found solace at New Life Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi, where Rev. Paul Clayton resides as Pastor. She served faithfully as a member of the choir, usher board and the County Wide Ushers. She was also a member of Anointed Angels. Ida received her education through the Meridian Public School District and graduated from Meridian High School Class of 1973. After graduating high school, she continued her education at Meridian Junior College where she majored in Phlebotomy. Ida was a true gem in the eyes of family and friends. There were a plethora of words to describe Ida, but one word that protrudes the most is selflessness due to all of her actions having reactions for serving others. She truly loved life and all who came in contact with her. She loved to cook, sing, shopping, phone conversations and enjoyed being with family and friends. Through her work profession, Certified Nurse's Assistant, Ida lived out her passion even more by taking care of others and creating uriforgettable bonds with her patients and colleagues. She was also a Foster Grandparent for the Meridian Public School District. The life Ms. Croft lived was nothing short of phenomenal. Ida's life and legacy will live on eternally due to her faith in Christ, her love for others, and her nurturing spirit. On Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, GA, God saw fit to close the eyes and seal the lips of Ida as her earthly journey had been completed. She truly kept the faith and finished her course. It was time for her to transition to her Heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Hill; father, Roscoe Hill; husband, Norris Croft, Sr.; aunts: Gussie Clayton and Betty Spinks Pollard and uncles: Harvey Spinks, Tom Spinks, and Malcolm (Joe) Spinks, Jessie Spinks and Scooter Spinks. Ida leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Kimberly Clark (Sterling), Lashonda Lockhart (Deddrick), and Reneva Croft; one son: Norris Croft, Jr., twelve grandchildren: Jay/an Rivers (Courtney), Ta 'Eishia Croft, BeJeron Chapman, Malik Lockhart, Norris Croft III, Deddrick Lockhart III, Elijah Lockhart, Jayden Croft, Brayden Croft, Zoey Clark, Madison Croft, and Xavier Croft; two great-grandsons Luka Rivers and Jude Rivers; two sisters: Bertha Mae Trussell and Jackie Wells; two nieces: Katrina Trussell of Douglasville, GA and Tiwana Trussell of Meridian, MS; three nephews: Demetrius Trussell (Stephanie) of Clearwater, FL, Demarkus Trussell of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ricardo Wells of Savannah, GA, one goddaughter, Tamara Leverette (Clarence); a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
