Irvin Chamberlain, Sr. was born on June 20, 1955 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late William and Louise Chamberlain. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bernard Chamberlain; grandmother, Pauline Bourdeaux; great-grandmother, Lizzie Strong; and one aunt, Lavada Bell. Irvin graduated from Meridian High School on May 29, 1973. He played on the Meridian High Varsity Basketball Team and was an awesome player. . On December 27, 1978 he married the love of his life, Betty Hill. Irvin loved listening to music, watching movies and playing video games. His passion was spending time with family, especially with his grandchildren. He worked for Queen City Nursing Home and later started working at the Meridian Housing Authority from September 19, 1989 -April 1, 2009 and later retired. Irvin Chamberlain Sr., 62, departed this earthly life when the angel whispered in his ear and said rest on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 39 years, Betty Chamberlain of Meridian, MS; three sons, Irvin Chamberlain of Meridian, MS, Donald (Sally) Cameron of Louisville, Kentucky, Bernard (Lawanda) Cameron of Springhill, Tennessee; two daughters, Sharif a Chamberlain of California and Kimberly Cameron of Meridian, MS; one brother, William Chamberlain of Meridian, MS; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one nephew, William Chamberlain IV; one sister-in-law, Molly Fikes of Forth Worth Texas. A host of other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
