Mr. Isaac "Junebug" Taylor's Obituary
Isaac '1uneBug" Taylor was born August 10, 1939 to the late Pete and Lou Ella Rhone of Meridian, MS. He was the only child of this union. At an early age he joined church with the Bethel Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. He attended T. J. Harris High/Jr. College where he was active in several social activities. He played basketball with the Maroon and Gold Tiger Basketball Team. He later continued his education while attending Grambling State University in Louisiana. After he completed his education, he went to work full-time with the Flinkote Corporation as a Laborer . He worked there until his retire-ment. During his employment years, he met Gwendolyn Elliott, fell in love and they were united in marriage. With this union they had one child, Isaac Taylor Jr. In his leisure time you would find him spending time with his love of playing checkers and Barbecuing. If you ever visited his home on Sunday evening you would have a feast on eating barbecue while he would beat you on playing checkers as the "Checker King". Sunset for Isaac Taylor was on October 20, 2016 after a long illness. He departed this life from his family residence in Meridian. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Pete and Lou Ella Rhone. He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife Gwendolyn Taylor of Meridian, one son, Isaac Taylor Jr., step-son, James D. Stewart of Meridian. Sister-in-law, Charlene Elliott, brother-in-law, Larry Elliott of Meridian, MS, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
