Mr. Jacob Burns' Obituary
Deacon Jacob Burns was born on July 29, 1953 to Reverend John C. Burns, Sr. and Carrie Gray Burns of Enterprise, MS. Jacob received his formal education through the Enterprise School System. Deacon Burns accepted Christ as his Savior at Old Enterprise Baptist Church of Enterprise, MS, where he served in the following varied positions: trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, janitor, plumber, electrician, and monthly birthday cake baker. Deacon Burns was truly a man who loved the lord. At the time of his passing, Jacob was employed with the East-Jasper School District, where he had served in the Maintenance Department for over 13 years. Committed to serving God as well as helping his fellowman, Jacob was a man of his word who always got the job done. Prior to his last place of employment, Jacob worked at Burllington Industries in Stonewall, MS, as a master pipefitter for over 29 years. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Leroy, Sidney, and John. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Beverly; his son, Johnny Terrell of Enterprise, MS; four children, Henry Cook of Enterprise, MS, Carla Allen and Jerra Allen, both of Hattiesburg, MS and Veronica Cook of Rose Hill, MS; four brothrs, Robert Sr. of Biloxi, MS, Alton of Chicago, IL, Frank of Houston, TX and Joseph of Stonewall, MS; three sisters, Hattie Lott and Mary Catchings both of Enterprise, MS and Beulah Wright of D'Iberville, MS; tweleve grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Deacon Jacob Burns was deeply loved and will forever be missed.
