Mr. James Vinziant's Obituary
James Vinziant was born December 27, 1946. One of ten children born to the late Mr. Cleveland and Mrs. Alzada Vinziant in Meridian, Mississippi. He was the oldest grandchild of Hosea and Rose Campbell. Ping confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at The Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was educated in the Mississippi and Alabama School System. After graduating from high school Ping joined the Military Branch of the Army on September 15, 1965 he was a US Army Infantryman PVT lsr class E2 rank and was a Prisoner of War (POW). His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him a Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge (Rifle) Award and an honorable discharge on June 30, 1967. On December 5, 2019 God called Ping home. This soldier's tour came to an end. His next stop Heaven where he will join his parents Mr. Cleveland and Mrs. Alzada Vinziant along with two of his brothers, Johnny and Bernard Sr. Vinziant and one niece Tammeca Collins. Ping leaves so many love ones to cherish his memories: one son Tyrone Vinziant. His siblings, Addiestine V. Hogan, Birmingham, AL; Rosemary V. Adams, Charlotte, NC; Eugene Vinziant Jr., Birmingham, AL; Alphaeus Vinziant, Birmingham, AL; and Lanell Vinziam, Birmingham, AL .. One Aunt Bertha C. Winston, Atlanta, GA; one Uncle Hosea Campbell, Cleveland, OH. One cousin that was very dear to his heart Sabrina Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
