Elder James B. Whigham's Obituary
Elder James B. Whigham having accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior departed this life for eternity on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, MS. He was born December 5, 1940, in Cullomburg, Alabama to the union of Allen Joshua and Mary Lee Whigham (both deceased). He was preceded in death by six sisters: Gertha Rooks, Georgia Whigham Taylor, Ella Delores Whigham Goode, Ida Lee Nicholson, Ann_ie Bell McGrew, and Mary Whigham Cunningham; three brothers: John Henry Whigham, Joe Whigham, Roosevelt Whigham, and one grandchild DJ Whigham. He worked at Masonite, Inc. in Laurel, MS from 1969-1989. He pastored for 44 years serving as the Pastor of Arlington, Magnolia, Lisman, and Coffeeville Church of God in Christ. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Julia Mae Whigham (Carmichael, MS); six sons, Bamous (Genevieve) Whigham of Decatur, MS, Dennis (Ann) Whigham of Shubuta, MS, Anthony (Gracie) Whigham of Laurel, MS, James (Darcus) Whigham of Harvey, LA, Allen Whigham of Ridgeland, . MS, and Otis (LaPetra) of Lynchburg, VA; four daughters, Sylvia (Norbert) Lewis of Quitman, MS, Sherry (Jack) Johnson of Kathleen, GA, Brenda (Raymond) Broderick of Millbrook, AL, and Shameka (Samuel) Walker of Canton, GA; Thirty-two grandchildren: Nikki (Charles) Riley, Nina Lewis, Neicey McCarty & Norbert Lewis. II; Alma Nicole (Tatiana) & Jonathan (Carrie) Whigham; Denisha Whigham & Terrance McGowan; Jaylon & Trevor Johnson; Shanay, LaTonia, Amber, D'Anthony, & Joseph Whigham; Kristy Keyes, Zachery Matthews, Kelsey, Kelvin Jr. & Kentavious Rogers; Alexandria, Alyssa, & April Parris; Bre'Anna, Malisha & Shakeria Whigham; Malachi Hartfield; Darius Whigham, Quinashai & Christopher Watts, (Roxie-family companion); Josiah & Alexis Whigham; Jada (Tray), Juliana, & Shamar Walker; Thirty-six great grandchildren; two sisters: ·--. Mernervia McIntosh of Allen, Texas and Annie Glenn of Mobile, AL; four brothers-in-law: Raymond, Leo, Lester & Allen Nicholson; two sisters-in-law: Anelle & Debora and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
