Ms. Janice Jenkins' Obituary
The final chapter in the extra ordinary life of Janice E. Jenkins was written on February 20, 2017. Her departure from this world opened the door to God's heavenly kingdom where she now rests in the bosom of Jesus Christ. Her journey began in Meridian Mississippi on February 14, 1961, the baby girl of three children born to Mrs. Barbara Burrough and the late Mr. Mervin Edward Burrough. Early in her life Janice accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and committed on a journey that provided her with opportunities to serve others as she served HIM at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Meridian, Mississippi. In the mid l 980's she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she joined the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Janice later moved her membership to Siloam Church International where she remained until her death. Janice was educated in the Meridian school system, graduating in 1979 from Meridian High School. Later, after considering her career path, she was employed with Concessional International where she was promoted to General Manager over Production Kitchen. While being "Serve Safe" and "HACCP" certified, she earned several awards including: Unit Manager of the Year; Production Manager; Training Manager of the Year; and Employer of the Year. Janice loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was always the center of planning family gatherings for special occasions. She was an expert in creating her own events just to be with family. Janice was a joy to be around, very kind hearted, passionate and considerate of everyone she met. Janice leaves to cherish her memories three loving children: Areterryo R. Burrough, Tequanna D. Rice, and Quante D. Rice (Gloria), all of Atlanta, GA. Two adoring granddaughters: Kristi C. Rice and Khloe Rice-Buchannon. A dedicated mother, Barbara Burrough, Meridian, Mississippi. A caring sister, Edweena F. Bolden, Meridian, Mississippi. A brother, Mervin E. Burrough, Atlanta, GA. A special cousin, Carolyn Irvin, New York, New York. Two god: sisters, Latonya Tobias and Kirtley Gilbert, Atlanta, GA. Devoted friends: Katena Little, Fayetteville, GA.; Shelia Brooks, Atlanta; GA and Telisa Jones, Meridian, Mississippi. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
