Mrs. Jeanette Lorene Smith's Obituary
Jeanette Lorene Ramsey Smith the fourth of six children, born to Mrs. Lorene Nickson Ramsey and Johnny Lee Ramsey, Sr. on June 4, 1961, In Meridian, Mississippi. She attended the Meridian Public School District. She worked as General Manager at Arby's for over 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and granny. She loved her family and close friends. She was always a positive person with a good heart. Sister Smith gave her life to Christ at an early age was baptized by Rev. W. C. Griffin at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She later married Mr. Charles Lee Smith and moved her membership to East Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church to serve the Lord beside her husband. She was a dedicated member and served on various boards in the church such as Mission Board, Finance Committee and Usher. She loved her church family. Jeanette Lorene Ramsey Smith was preceded in death by her father Johnny Lee Ramsey Sr., twin sister Jeanene Ramsey, brother Willie Jeffrey Ramsey, Darryl Ramsey, Johnny Lee Ramsey Jr., an adopted son Johnny La Rod Smith, a step son Tavares Smith, mother-in-law Legertha Smith Baskin, sister-in-law Barbara Boyd. Jeanette Lorene Ramsey Smith leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and dedicated husband of 39 years, Mr. Charles Lee Smith, mother, Lorene Ramsey, one son, Joseph Ramsey, one daughter, Jeanetta Boyd, one brother, Robert Earl Ramsey, two sisters, Jeanette Ramsey, all of Meridian, MS, Katie (Willie} Cole of DeKalb, MS; 9 grandkids, Twins Jasmine and Jermaine Ramsey, Preona Boyd, Phamarion Boyd, Phacia Boyd, Preanna Boyd, Phaizon Boyd, Phadarrion Stinner and Mi' Angel Ramsey. One aunt Rosie Nickson Goodwin of Stonewall, MS. Three sister-in-laws Dorothy Grayson, Ruby Smith, Geraldine(Willie} Sillimon one brother-in-law Ely Smith. Also treasuring her memories are cousin/sister/bestfriend Mattie Mcclelland her loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
