Mr. Jerry C. Scott's Obituary
Jerry Clyde Scott was born January 6, 1952 to Zebbie D. & Linnie Mae (Giles) Scott, Sr. in Meridian, MS. He was born the fourth of six children.
At a young age, he joined St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served faithfully until his health declined.
While at St. Joseph Catholic Church, he joined and served with the Knights of Peter Claver.
He attended elementary and middle school at St. Joseph Catholic School, and attended and graduated from Meridian High School. After high school, Jerry attended a technical school in Milwaukee, WI. He was employed as an engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad; where he worked until retirement.
Jerry was married to Barbara (Sykes) Scott for 24 years.
He was the loving father of three sons; Barren, Anthony, and Jarred Scott; and grandfather of three grandsons.
Jerry enjoyed sports and spent a lot of his spare time fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was outgoing and fun-loving. Being the entertainer of the family, he enjoyed teasing others and telling funny stories & jokes about family and friends.
God called him home Wednesday, December 29th, 2021
after enduring a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Zebbie Scott, Sr. and Linnie M. Giles Scott.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Sykes Scott; sons, Barren (Renee) Scott, Anthony Scott, and Jarred Scott; grandsons, Anthony Jr., Yosiah, and Tylan Scott; brothers, Zebbie (Diane) Scott, Jr. and Zachary (Tracey) Scott; sisters, Sharyn (Nathaniel) Jones, Linda (C. Bernard) Scarbrough, and Deborah Harrington; mother-in-law, Laura Sykes; brother-in-law, Reginald Sykes; sister-in-law, Kaye (Jack) Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
