A TIME TO BE BORN On April 9, 1922, Lula and Augustus D. Blanks welcomed their new addition to the family, Jessie B. in Daleville, Mississippi. Jessie attended Daleville School and graduated in the eighth grade.
A TIME TO PLANT In 1948, Jessie moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked at The Sands of Hollywood as a domestic worker and worked for several celebrities such as Sal Mineo, Lee Sharon, and Harry Belafonte.
A TIME TO LOVE In 1957, Jessie married Harry Tracy Cal, Sr.
A TIME TO HEAL Jessie moved back to Mississippi to care for her mother. She later became a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Secretary and usher.
A TIME TO MOURN Loved ones gone on before Jessie includes her husband, Harry; her parents; her brothers: Dewell, Burton, Gus Jr., and Monroe; her sisters: Luna, Ebell, Hunnie, and Elnora; her half-brother Johnnie: and her two stepsons: Harry Cal Jr. and Waymon Cal.
A TIME TO DlE She leaves to cherish her memories: her brother, George Blanks of Daleville, MS; god-daughters, Alice (Oree) Drummond and Clementine (Henry) Temple of Daleville; a very special niece,' Jeanette Clark; two sisters-in-law, Mary J. Blanks Adams and Linnie Blanks; and many special nieces and nephews who were like her children.
