Mrs. Jessie Mae Jones' Obituary
Pastor Jessie Mae Jones was born June 5, 1949, to the late David and Betty Arnold in Gilbertown, Alabama. She was preceded in death by: one son, Stacy Hones of Stonewall, MS; two sisters: Ella Mae Everette of Erie, Pennsylvania; and Mary, Frost of Gilbertown, AL; and two brothers: Larry Arnold of Gilbertown, AL; and Roy Lee Brown, also of Gilbertown, AL. Pastor Jones passed away on April 8, 2020, peacefully at her home while she was asleep.
Pastor Jones was 18 years old when she received Christ as her Lord and Savior. She served as missionary for many years. God saw fit to elevate her in the ministry and she served faithfully as the Pastor of the Wings of Deliverance Church in Stonewall, MS, under the leadership of the late Bishop Calvin Williams and the late Bishop Warren Taylor.
For 27 years, Pastor Jones was a great influence to many people through the church and community. She was united in holy matrimony to Leroy Jones on September 15, 1966, Gilbertown, AL. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Leroy Jones, Sr; 5 sons: kelvin Arnold of Bay Springs, MS; John (Kathy) Jones of Georgia; Leroy Jr. (Patricia) Jones of Buckatunna, MS; Terry Jones of Stonewall, MS; and Steve (Savannah) Jones of Hiwanee, MS; 3 daughters: Elizabeth (Donald) McDonald of Stonewall, MS; and Abigail Plummer of Stonewall, MS; and Kem (Max Cell) curry of Bay Springs, MS; 3 sisters: Yvonne (Allen) Nicholson of Gilbertown, AL; Betty Jean Jones of Erie, Pennsylvania; and Ola Mae Arnold Jones of Erie, Pennsylvania; 4 brothers: Greg (Nicole) Arnold of Butler, AL; Jerry Arnold of Gilbertown, AL; Sammy Arnold and J.D. Brown, both of Gilbertown, AL; and 1 aunt, Leola Brown of Mobile, AL; 29 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pastor Jones was loved by many and will be missed by many.
