Mrs. Jessie Ree Lofton Yarrell's Obituary
Ms. Jessie Ree Lofton Yarrell was born July 9, 193 8, in Toomsuba, MS to Isom and Rosa Hom Lofton who preceded her in death. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Little Hope Baptist Church, Toomsuba. MS and remained a faithful member for most of her adult life. Her faith in God remained strong, until God gave her wings, and called her home on Thursday, December 21, 2022, in the comfort of her home. Jessie Ree received her education from Stevenson Vocational High School. Toomsuba, MS, graduating in 1957. Afterward, she went on to study, at Alcorn College, Lorman, MS graduating with a degree in Business Education. She spent many years teaching in the Enterprise MS School District, and afterwards as an employee of the Meridian Star. She was married to the late Joe Louis Yarrell and the proud mother of three loving children. Jessie Ree had eight siblings: Rosie Lee, Chester, Gladys, James, Lenon, Ira, Agnes, and Daisy, who proceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: Matthew Yarrell and Mark Yarrell of Meridian, MS; a daughter, Sharon Rose Yarrell of Meridian, MS; one granddaughter, Tamika Stevens of Augusta, GA; a sister, Dessie Lee Hall of Thomastown, MS; and a brother, Abraham (Rosetta) Lofton of Angola, NY; and a host of relatives and friends.
