Ms. Jimmie Dale Thompson's Obituary
Jimmie Dale (Boyden) Thompson passed away May 14, 2025 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born November 30, 1951 in Meridian, MS to the late Mittie and Jim Lee Boyden.
A woman of great faith, Jimmie Dale or Big Jima as she was known to most of those who had the privilege of knowing her, was an active member of First Enterprise Baptist Church in Enterprise, Mississippi and New Philadelphia Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Dutifully spending many hours as members of the Usher board, attending bible study, and relishing in her relationship with the Lord.
Blessed with an incredible sense of humor, she was always good to sit and regale you with stories of the good old old days, and give you a hug you would never forget. A loving grandmother who was never ending in her love and affection for her grandchildren. Even spoiling them when their parents said no. You would be hard pressed to find someone prouder of her five granddaughters and two grandsons.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mittie Boyden, brother Lonzell Boyden and special sister Priscilla Johnson.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri Rena Thompson, Mittie Thompson Allen (David), Latoya Rena Thompson, son Brian Thompson (Kari), nephew Lonzell Boyden Jr. and seven grandchildren Arthur Smith, Arianna Smith, Damaris Allen, Deidra Allen, Danielle Allen, Mackenzie Young and Julian Thompson. She also leaves to mourn a host of bonus nieces in Kimmeandra Cole, Haley Donald, Marsha Johnson, Lisa Shadd, and Michelle Johnson as well as special sisters Deborah Brown, Lois Lowery, and Lessie Mae Foley and her special doctor daughter Theresa Alexander.
A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be conducted at First Enterprise Baptist Church on Saturday June 7, 2025 Viewing will be at 10AM, with the service to follow at 11 AM.
