Mr. Jimmie White's Obituary
Tuesday, August 18, 2015 a strong man responded to a whispering call of The Lord to come home. He must have been nudged to leave the pain, suffering and tiredness to join his sweet loving Shug, who also went to be with The Lord less than five months ago. He had begun to miss his father-in-law and mother-in-law, whom he spoke of often, as well as his deceased brothers and sisters. He must have breathed a sigh of relief as the light shined and he joined the Heavenly Host. Jimmie White "Budd" was born December 5, 1919 in Choctaw County Alabama. His father, Dan White, passed away before he was born; leaving his mother's dad, Fortune Rogers to help raise him with his mom, Sallie Rogers White. In this quest to provide, he came to Mississippi in the mid-thirties to find work. Jimmie laid eyes on Aretha Tims as a beautiful young woman, while here working with loggers. He proclaimed to everyone, "That's gonna be my wife." They were united in holy matrimony December 10, 1939 -standing room only, at Shiloh M. B. Church. Seventy-five years later they were separated by death. Their life together was bountiful. Jimmie's biological son, Lawrence "Mann" was a special part of their lives. They raised him together with the help of family. They lived in Birmingham, Alabama as he worked for U. S Steele. She was a homemaker and full time wife. Jimmie and Aretha later moved back to Mississippi to be closer to her. Family and purchased a farm in Enterprise, Mississippi. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving son, Lawrence Tyson and his wife Cassandra of Enterprise, Mississippi; four granddaughters: Demetrice Tyson, Chanda Portis (Mario), La Wanda Prewitt (Darin), Brenisha Hicks (Ron), and eight great grandchildren, residing in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
