Mr. Jimmy Wooten's Obituary
Jimmy Larry Wooten was born July 16, 1952 to the late Lesco and Adelaide Wooten in Meridian, MS. He was the fourth of five children. He was married to the late Mary Jean Bailey-Wooten. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Lamond Wooten, brother Bennie F. Wooten, and niece Lashawnda R. Wooten. Jimmy attended Meridian Public Schools where he was a graduate of the class of 1971. During his high school years, he was a member of the Meridian High School football team. He also attended church at an early age and loved participating in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Jimmy's career began at an early age with employment at Winn-Dixie grocery store where he became the produce manager. He later found employment at the Meridian Naval Commissary where he became the store manager. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed collecting antiques and old cars. He always helped people when they were in need. He was also an amazing cook and loved creating new recipes for his family to try. Jimmy leaves to mourn two grandsons; Dallas Jones and Jace Wooten, two sisters; Ollie Thompson and Helen Reed (Clinton), one brother; Charles Wooten, two nieces; Tiwana Reed and Danielle Thompson, three nephews; Randy Thompson, Jeremy Reed, and Marcus Wooten, three great nieces; Natalie Herlong, JaneshiaJohnson, and Aleah Johnson, two great nephews; Bryce Wooten and Karmelo Sims, many cousins, a very dear friend; Erna Chua, and many others.
