Ms. Jo Ann Walker's Obituary
Jo Ann Walker was born on November 27, 1953 to the late John Horace and Eunice Walker in Toomsuba, Ms. She joined Little Hope Baptist Church at an early age and rededicated her life to Christ at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier, Ms. Jo Ann graduated Sumter County High School in 1974, and furthered her education at MCC where she became an LPN. She worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA, Matty Hersee Hospital and Queen City Nursing Home in Meridian MS. She also worked as a traveling nurse for a number of years. In later years she met and married Stanley Jemison of Marion MS. Jo Ann departed this life on October 11, 2016 at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Spring, MS surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Eunice Walker, her son Alexander Walker, her sister, Linda Faye Walker; her brothers Johnny Walker, Gethsemane Walker, David Walker, Johnny Dubose, Tommy Dubose, James Andrew Walker, James Russell Walker,and her husband Stanley Jemison. She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Curtis (Renee) Walker, of Russell, MS; Kenneth Walker of Meridian, MS; and Allen (Nikki) Walker of Nashville, TN; Two daughters; Valisha Walker of Decatur, GA; and Leeann Walker of Gautier MS; One Brother; Melvin (Mary Ann) Walker of Manhattan, LA; Five sisters; Irene (Willie) Harrison ofToomsuba, Ms; Essie Herlong of Meridian, Ms; Eunice Bell Of Cuba, Al; Debra Lewis of Huntsville, Al, and Darlene (Eric) Chaney of Slidell LA, nine grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
