Mr. John Lee Benamon's Obituary
John Lee Benamon was born Wednesday, December 4, 1929 to Dan Benamon and Juanita Rush Benamon in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. During early life, he joined Brown Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS where he was a faithful church member until his health started to fail him. On Saturday, November 18, 1950, he married the love of his life Miss Guyoria Jack who is also a native of Kemper County, MS. Seven children, five sons and two daughters, were born to their union. He was a hard worker and provided a good life for his family. Mr. Benamon had several jobs, but working for Yates Construction and being a progressive and productive farmer were his favorites. Mr. John Lee Benamon, age 91, exited his earthly life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at his residence in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. His daughter, Lenora Benamon Bourrage; two grandchildren -both grandsons, Clyde Deundra Benamon and Herbert Bourrage, Jr.; father, Dan Benamon; mother, Juanita Benamon Rush; and three brothers, James Benamon, Virgil Benamon, and Earl Benamon, preceded him in death. Survivors are: wife, Guyoria Jack Benamon of DeKalb, MS; six children -one daughter, Vineta Benamon Naylor of DeKalb, MS; five sons, Johnny Benamon (Carol) of West Memphis, AR; Robert Earl Benamon (June) of Indianapolis, IN; Clyde Benamon (Brenda) of DeKalb, MS; Roy Benamon (Lisa) and Melvin Bepamon, both of Meridian, MS; three siblings -all sisters, Lizzie "Liz" Benamon Jackson of Rock Island, IL; Leona Benamon Cole of Preston, MS; and Nona Mae Benamon Butler of DeKalb, MS; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. He was fondly known as "Paw Paw'' by his grandchildren.
