Mr. John Davis Brown's Obituary
J.D. lived well, smiled often, and loved much. He earned the respect of people far and near. He filled his place and accomplished well his tasks. His life was indeed an inspiration to all that knew him. He lived his life to the fullest always trusting in the lord. He had his house in order, and now his final journey is to rest and be with the Lord in the land of the living.
Brother John Davis Brown was born on June 4, 1927 to the late Fred and Clara Brown in Meridian, MS the youngest of (7) children. He departed this earthly life April 9, 2014 at his residence. The seeds of John Davis’s life were planted when he accepted Christ at an early age and joined Savannah Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a good and faithful Deacon until his health failed. During John Davis' eighty-six years (86) here on earth, he accomplished much and over came many obstacles. He graduated from Harris High School. Football was his passion he loved so well. After .finishing high school John Davis met the love of his life Johnnie Ruth Johnson lived together faithful until her death. John Davis worked as an employee at GM JCG railroad for (30) thirty year he retired. John Davis was deeply loved by family and friends. Memories of love, will be held dearly (4) four sons Johnny (Carolyn) Brown, Meridian, MS. Ronald Taylor of Brandon, MS., James and Calvin Brown preceded him in death, (1) one loving daughter Ira (Elbert) Fowler of Dallas, Texas, (2) brothers Bennie Brown of Meridian, MS, Louis Brown of Los Angeles, California (1) one loving daughter-in-law Diane Brown, leaving a legacy of (13) grandchildren, (14) great-grandchildren, (2) two sister also preceded him in death, Ruth Barber and Eleanor Bailey, (2) two brothers, Leslie and Freddie Brown. Mr. Brown leaves a lot of extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
