Mr. John D. Holliday's Obituary
John D Holliday "Boss Hog" was born September 18, 1938 in Dekalb, MS to Pearl Holliday and John D. Holliday, Sr. He was one of two siblings. He was a long time dedicated employee at Peavey Electronics, Meridian, MS, where he was a music box sander. On October 16, 1971 he married Ora Portis whose love he shared until death separated them. John enjoyed playing pool, being around his friends, taking of his truck and spending time with his lovely wife and family. John was preceded in death by his brother Walter Holliday, mother, Pearl Holliday, fatherJohn D. Holliday, Sr., grandmother, Kate Holiday and his grandfather, Marshall Holiday. He was dearly loved by his family. John leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Ora Holliday; two sons: Wayne Holliday and Michael Holliday; both of Orlando, FL; one daughter, Barbara Faye Null; Winston County, MS; four brothers-in-law: Charles Portis, Meridian,MS; Robert Portis Petersburg, MO, Thomas Portis and Sam Portis, both of New Orleans, LA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
