Mr. John A. Horne's Obituary
John A. Horne, affectionately known as "Sonny" was born August 13, 1942 in Lauderdale, MS to the late John William and Bobbie Lee Herlong Horne. He joined the Elizabeth U.M Church at an early age. He attended Middleton Attendance Center School. After working forty years at Atmos Energy (formerly known as Mississippi Valley Gas Company) in Meridian, MS he retired. His journey ended on April 3, 2020 at Merit Health Care, Brandon, MS. He was preceded in death by parents, John and Bobbie Lee Horne, three brothers; Joseph Lee, Arlester, and Eddie Ray Horne and a sister Rosanna Horne. John leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Shirley J. Ruffin, two sisters; Ella Delois (Otis) Lard and Geraldine Gowdy, two brothers; Melton and Milton Horne, one grandson; Brandon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives whom he loved dearly.
