To the Johnson Family…
What a sad day to just hear of the loss of a media leader who made a meaningful difference in so many ways.
What a pleasure it was to travel to Meridian on a statewide tour, which always included a stop for an interview with the wonderfully polite and insightful John Johnson. Not only was he well-versed on the subject matter, but he took a personal interest in my family and always remembered to ask about them.
As a retiree now living out of state, word has just reached me of his passing.
His family should know that he always spoke of them glowingly when we shared family stories…something that is so rare today in the news business. It was his personal touch that set him apart…and I will forever fondly remember what a difference he made for me and so many others.
As the Lord accepts this fine soul into His Heavenly Kingdom, may John forever be surrounded by His peace and love, as John surrounded us with during his life of service to his state, community and family.
