Mr. Johnnie Lee Grant, Jr.'s Obituary
Johnnie Lee Grant, Jr. was born on Friday, June 21, 1957 in electric Mills, MS to the late Johnnie Lee Grant Sr. and the late Anna Rose Campbell Pettus. He was the oldest of eleven children. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined to Bodka Valley Baptist Church. He moved to Chicago in 1979 and began working for Vertical Inc. as a machine operator until he retired and moved back to Mississippi where he enjoyed family, horse rides and traveling. He was also an avid CB user going by the name “Tab”. He received his education from Spencer High School in Scooba, MS where he graduated with the class of 1975. Johnnie was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Michael Dewayne Grant and Andre Lazor Pettus.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a wife, Cinda R. Grant; four children, Cotika Grant, Natasha Grant, Sabrina (Justin) McAfee-Allen and Johnnie L. Grant III; a devoted step-father, Robert Earl Pettus.
He also leaves to cherish his memories: four brothers, Elli Grant, Robert (Betty) Pettus Jr., Jessie Pettus and Carlos Pettus; four sisters, Regenna Grant, Teresa Boyd (Robert), Rita Pettus (James), Carla (Bush) White; eleven grandchildren, Marquis Coleman, Marquiesha Grant, Jacoby Grant, Terrineka Grant, DaShaun Glover, Kevon Logan, Jamarquis Jaliyah, Justice and Jayden Allen, Angel Grant; three great-grandchildren, Jamarrion, Armani ad Amir Coleman; two aunts Bertha Winston and Goldie Coleman; two uncles, Hosea (Carolyn) Campbell and Jerry (Katie) Tiller; two special first cousins, Johnny Hardy and Kathy Winston; a loving companion, Belinda Watkins and her two children LaQuenton and Teleshia Watkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
