Mr. Johnnie Ben Jordan's Obituary
On March 16, 1941, in Meridian, Mississippi, a blessed event took place in the lives of the late Benjamin and Julie Elaine Jordan, when a baby boy was born, whom they would name Johnnie Ben Jordan. He departed this earthly life March 19, 2019 at his residence.
Johnnie grew up in Mississippi, but would later relocate to Springfield, IL, where he met and married Delores Jordan. To this union, five children where born. After being in Springfield for 29 years, he relocated back to Meridian, Mississippi where he began a career in roofing and contacting work until his retirement.
He was a great father and spiritual father. He spent his life loving and helping others as he saw the need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three children:Johnnie Jordan, Allen Jordan and Elouise Jordan; and twelve siblings.
Johnnie leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and caring companion, friends, and common law wife of 18 years, Jackie Brown of Meridian, MS; three sons: Alfonso Jordan (Cassandra) and Michael Jordan, both of Springfield, IL, and Joe Nelson of Forest, MS; three daughters: Sabrina Dupree of Springfield, IL, Lula Mae Smith and Ida Travis, both of Hattiesburg, MS; one sister, Mary Jordan of Racine, WI; one brother: Joe Thomas of Picayune, MS; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
