Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Thurman's Obituary
Johnnie Ruth Thurman was born March 21, 1949 to the late Mother Willie Elma Cooley and John Wesley Gray. She took her peaceful rest on July 27, 2021 at her residence, Johnny Ruth attended school at Central High School in Enterprise, Mississippi. After High School she worked on various jobs eventually moving to Racine, Wisconsin. In Racine, Wisconsin, She attended Great Mount Eagle Baptist Church. After retiring she and Richard returned to Enterprise in 2003 and adopted Enterprise as their home. To this union one daughter was born. She then became a member of Old Enterprise Baptist Church. She was a warm and caring person. Johnny Ruth really enjoyed fishing (if it was a clean area and she had someone to bait her hook and take the fish off) She also loved her blues, playing cards and firing up her grill. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Richard Thurman Sr. one sister, Kathy Smith. and grandson, Darius Gray. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving daughter; Lan Tonia Gray, Douglasville Ga; grandson, Rodrekus j Moss, Atlanta, GA, seven sisters: Mattie (Jesse) Carter, Debra Johnson, Linda (Alex) Johnson, Tessa Cooley, DeAnn Gray, Latrice Gray all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dinah Lynn Chambers, Buffalo, NY. One brother: Steven (Elaine) Cooley of Milwaukee, WI, one uncle David Thomas, Milwaukie, WI. One Aunt, Rosie Turner, Laurel, MS, one Brother-in-law, Alphonso (Brazilian) Thurman, Stonecrest, GA, Numerous grandchildren, Goddaughters: Kimmeandreia Cole and Pamela Anderson. Special friend Carl Newman and friends Mona Kirk, Robert and Lois Lowery and Gene Rogers.
