Mr. Johnny Ray Goodwin's Obituary
Mr. Johnny Ray Goodwin was born on December 7, 1963 to Otto
Goodwin, Sr., and Liza Dumas Goodwin in Enterprise, MS. He
departed this life on June 23, 2019 at Merit Health Central in
Jackson. MS.
Johnny Ray attended school in the Enterprise School
District. His committed work life of over 25 years of
employment consisted of Bus driver for the Enterprise School
District and the Meridian Public School District. After
retiring from the MPSD, he drove for the Boys and Girls Club of
Meridian until his health begin to fail. Next to driving the bus,
Johnny Ray loved playing softball.
Johnny Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one (1) brother,
Roy Charles Goodwin and one (1) sister, Mary O. Goodwin.
Johnny Ray leaves to cherish his memories: two (2)
daughters; K-Wana Leggett and Shiniqua Leggett, Meridian, MS;
one (1) son, Justin Ray Goodwin, Starkville, MS; four (4) sisters:
Lucille Young of Albuquerque, NM, Charlene Kirk Jones and Alma
Kirk, both of Pachuta, MS and Dorothy Hearn, California;
brothers: Larry (Peggy) Goodwin of Madison, MS, Robert Good-
win of Quitman, MS, Willie L. (Brenda) Goodwin of Meridian, MS,
Frank Goodwin of Racine, WI, Otto Goodwin, Jr. and Jimmy Kirk
of Pachuta, MS; two (2) grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
