Mr. Johnny Wayne McClellan's Obituary
Johnny W. McClellan, Sr. was born to Katie McClellan and the late Johnny William Clayton on April 15, 1963. He departed this life on December 21, 2020. Johnny grew up in Meridian, MS. where he lived and worked until his death. He attended Meridian Public Schools. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1982. He started working as an auto mechanic at an early age, gaining his experience by working with local mechanics, Moss "Cousin Crip" Addy and Henry Lee "Boss" Forbes. He worked at Sellers Oldsmobile for years, then went on to work at McElroy Auto Center for the last 20 years, all the while working independently after hours in his spare time fixing cars for everyone he knew. Johnny loved working on cars. He also loved joking with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by so many lives he has touched over the years. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie William Clayton, his maternal grandparents: Velma Cullum-McClellan and Early "Stud Jenkins" Mosley, his paternal grandparents: Carrie Lee Clayton and James "J.D." Yarbrough, special aunts: Bobbie Clayton Seals and Daisy Mae Collins, a niece, Ashley Renee McClellan, and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Katie Mae McClellan of Meridian, his estranged wife, Carla Watson McClellan of Meridian, his stepmother, Katherine Clayton of Hillside, IL; four sons, Johnny Wayne (Kelli) McClellan, Jr. and Ryan Watson of Meridian; Jermaine (Sandra) Watson of San Diego, CA.; and Demetric Watson of Louisville, KV. Eleven grandchildren: Jakiya Smith, JaQuavion Rhoney, Jakaila McClellan, JaDinea McClellan of Meridian; David, Cindv,, Journey, and Jazlyn Watson all of San Diego, CA; Jaden.,Linnsey, and LaDarrius King of Bailey, MS. Four brothers, Johnny William (Annie) McClellan of Meridian; Johnny (Michelle) Clayton of Richton Park, IL; William (Lisa) Clayton of Aurora, IL; Michael (Kristi) Clayton of Burlingston, WI. Three Sisters, Bernadette McClellan Bradley of Calhoun, GA; Cynthia (Arthur Lee) McClellan Houston of Meridian, and Gennie Mae Clayton of Willowbrook, IL. A special sister, Lillie Temple Hudson, a special friend, Cheryl Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
