Mr. Jonas Eades, Jr.'s Obituary
Jonas Eades, Jr. was born on July 12, 1947 in Toomsuba, MS, to the late Olivia and Jonas Eades Sr. He was the eight child born to this union. Jr, as he was affectionately known, attended Middleton Attendance School and shortly after high school joined the United States Army in 1968. After serving in the Vietnam War he was honorably discharged in 1970. Jonas Eades, Jr married Mary Ann Griggs Dec. 24, 1977 for which 4 children were born from this union. Jr was an avid pool player for over 50 years and a true advocate for "You Only Live Once". He truly believed in living each moment of each day to the fullest. Despite a life long history of health issues, he never complained. He enjoyed traveling wherever he wanted to go and doing whatever he wanted to do. You never knew where Jr would pop up! He became a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church at a young age, & attended regularly until his health failed. On December 04, 2020 he transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by both parents, and a brother Melvin Eades. He leaves to forever cherish his memories his loving wife Mary Eades, daughters: LaTasha Eades and LaShonda Eades (Brandon, MS) and Ashley Eades of Meridian, MS; one son: LaShaun Eades of Dallas, TX; 5 grandsons: Michael, Christian, Du 'Niquis, Nicholas and Jaxston; 5 sisters: Sebell Vann of Meridian, MS and Mary Gibbs of Lauderdale, MS; Dorothy Jenkins of Pearl, MS, Odessa Cooper of Detroit, MI and Christine Eades of Cincinnati, OH; 3 brothers: Sylvester Eades (Lela) of Detroit, MI; Johnny Eades and James (Gail) Eades both of Kinterbish, AL; 5 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will continue to miss him.
