Mr. Joseph Lee Blanks' Obituary
Mr. Joseph Lee Blanks was born on June 13, 1954 to the late Joe Willie and Amallie Ott Blanks in Russell, MS where he resided until rest. He was the 2nd of 3 children.
Mr. Blanks received his education from Northeast High School in Meridian, MS. He retired from Avery Dennison and went on to work with Anytime Trucking as a Truck Driver until his health failed. He departed this life on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at The University Medical Center in Jackson, MS at the age of 59. Mr. Blanks was first united in Holy Matrimony to Cora Ann Grace, a native of Kemper County, on March 8, 1975 and to this union, four children were born. He later married Dorothy Grady, a native of Lauderdale County, and to this union two children were born. Mr. Joseph Blanks leaves lasting, loving memories to cherish by six loving children: Toskhia Blanks of Russell, MS; Joseph Blanks of York, AL; Taracer Blanks of Toomsuba, MS; Angelica Blanks of Hattiesburg, MS; and Felicia and Dynecia Blanks, both of Meridian, MS . Two step-daughters, Leslie and Nikkita Grady, both of Meridian, MS. He was "Granddaddy" to 10 grandchildren, 2 step-granchildren, and 1 great-grandson. Two brothers: Willie Blanks of Russell, MS and Samuel (Carolyn) Ott of Gretna, LA; three neices, two nephews, and a host of family and friends who loved him as well. Mr. Blanks was preceded in death by his parents,a grandson, Adrion L. Blanks and a step-grandson, Jacobi K. Grady.
