Brother Joseph "Joe" Garner, Jr. made his peaceful transition from this life to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at lnova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. Brother Joseph "Joe" Garner, Jr. was born November 23, 1950, to the late Joe and Delois Garner of Toomsuba, Mississippi; he was the oldest of eleven children. He joined the Pentecostal Church of God at an early age under the leadership of . Apostle W.J. Peterson and Bishop J.J. Sears. His faith in God remained steadfast until he departed from this life. Joseph had a passion and love for his job as an operational engineer for over forty (40) years. He was an avid tennis player and motor biker. Joe had a zest for life and certainly lived his life to the fullest. Departing from this life, Joseph leaves to honor and cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Mary Black Garner; three daughters, Crystal (Anthony) Glover of Aikens, SC, Kimberly Garner of College Park, MD, and Jocelyn Garner of Fairfax, VA; two sons, Marcus Garner of Williamsburg, VA, and Charles Black of Victoria, VA; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Kaydin, Amaiya, Aubrey, Cameron, Zion, and Cnarles ; five brothers, William (Linda) Garner of Dacula, GA, Robert Garner of Meridian, MS, David Garner of Arlington, VA, and John (Marsha) Garner of Clermont, FL; six sisters, Josephine (Leslie) Simmons of Meridian, MS, Betty (Owen) Young-Cryer of Daleville, MS, Liz (Eddie, Sr.) Michael of Meridian, MS, Sarah (Jerry) Abernathy, Dorothy (Larry) Ghoston both of Collinsville, MS, and Sharon(Michael) Hill of Newnan, GA; a special aunt, Virgie Lee Barney, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Delois Garner, grandparents, and in-laws.
