Mr. Joseph "Top" McAllister's Obituary
Joseph (Top) McAllister was born in Meridian, Mississippi July 20, 1961. He was a baptized member of the Pentecostal Church of God where he received Jesus Christ at an early age. Joseph graduated from Meridian High School in 1979 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Army as a medic. He went on to further his career as a respiratory therapist, working for East Mississippi State Hospital and Neshoba County General Hospital. Later he became a REO Broker/ Real Estate Appraiser and business owner of Meridian Realty. Joseph is the son of Nannie Mae Griffin-McAllister and the late Shed McAllister, Sr. of Meridian, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Shed McAllister, Sr. and brother-in-law, Lawyer Woods. Joseph married his high school sweetheart, Theresa Edwards. From this union they share two children. Joseph leaves to celebrate his life and achievements, his son, Joseph Ricardo McAllister, and his daughter, Adrienne S. Bailey (Latorro) Chattanooga, TN, one greatly loved granddaughter; Londyn Bailey. His memories are cherished by; Three sisters; Annie Mae Woods (Lawyer), Meridian, MS; Emma Leigh Williamson (Renardo) and Betty Jean Williamson (Dominic) both of Dayton, OH. Three brothers; Shed McAllister, Jr. (Debra); David Lee McAllister (Connie) both of Meridian, MS and Henry Lee McAllister (Karen) Chattanooga, TN. Joseph valued his time spent with his brothers-in-law, Michael Edwards, Charles Edwards and Kevin Edwards and sister-in-law, Charlie Edwards. Joseph was uncle to (14) nephew, (12) nieces; (19) great nieces; (21) great nephews; (1) great great nieces; and (1) great great nephews. His departure will be mourned by a vast number of friends and colleagues.
