Mrs. Juanita Chaney's Obituary
On November 20, 1928, Mrs. Juanita Roberts Chaney was born to the late John Wesley Roberts and the late Phenola Wooten in Neshia County, MS. At an early age, Mrs. Chaney attended and graduate from dietician school. After graduation, Mrs. Chaney worked various jobs to help support her family. Later in life she retired and became a stay-home mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Chaney was a loving and devoted wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, sister-in-law, friend and neighborhood mother. She was truly a genuine and unique woman with much wisdom and encouraging words for her family, friends and especially people she met for the first time that she could help in any way. She was very blessed to have lived and seen her sixth generation before her home going.
As a mother and grandmother, she had a passion and enjoyed teaching her hobbies which were fishing, sewing, quilting, cooking, singing gospel, reading the Bible, gardening and working her flower bed to all of us with smiles and laughter. She had a passion for extending her home, warmth and love to anyone and everyone who came to know her. She was a very dedicated worker in the community and would volunteer her children if she saw something needed to be done to help others.
Mother came to know and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Shucktown, MS. She later rededicated her life as a Christian and became a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS, where she was a faithful and dedicated member until her health failed.
At the age of 88 years old, Mrs. Juanita Chaney departed her life at her residence on Sunday, July 23, 2017.
