Mrs. Juanita Ivy Overstreet's Obituary
Juanita (Sally) Ivy Overstreet was born September 3, 1935 to the late Alfred and Rena Ivy in Meridian, MS. She attended Weschler Elementary School and later attended T.J. Harris High School. Juanita was married to the late Sandy Allen and the late Robert Overstreet. She worked many years at East MS State Hospital. At an early age, she joined Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church where she remained an active member until her health failed in January 2016. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands; brother, George (Sonny) Ivy; sisters, Annabelle James and Velma Thomas; son, Robert Overstreet, Jr.; granddaughter, Debra Jones; grandson, Edward Jones and great granddaughter, Sanijha Allen. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Queen Jones, (James) of Meridian, MS; one son, Sandy (Betty) Allen of Meridian, MS; one sister, Ruth Wilson of Meridian, MS; three brothers, William Ivy of Kansas City, MO and Sandy Ivy of Muncie, IN; and Lonnie Ivy. Six grandchildren: Doris Cade (Vernon) of Tucson, AZ; Jessie Jones, Cassandra Allen, and Sandy Allen Jr. all of Meridian, MS; and Juanita Williams and Jonathan Jones of Phoenix, AZ; thirty great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren; special nieces, Mrs. Ida Mae Traylor, Brenda Wilson, and friend Sue Burton; and host of nieces, nephews, cherished friends & church family.
