Mrs. Juanita McWilliams Shoemate's Obituary
Mrs. Juanita McWilliams Shoemate was born April 28, 1946 to the late Marvin Oatha and Bessie Onie McWilliams in Kemper County, MS. She was the youngest of 8 children born to this union.
Juanita was affectionately known was “Lil Bit” and “Sister” called by her family and close friends. At an early age, Juanita confessed her faith and joined Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Meridian, MS. Juanita was blessed with one son, Anthony McWiliams.
While living in Meridian, she met and united with Peter Shoemate. Lil Bit was a beam of sunshine to her family and friends and the life of the party wherever she went. Juanita took her wings and left her earthly home on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Bedfore Care Center in Marion, MS.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Shoemate; parents: Marvin Oatha and Bessie Onie McWilliams; and sisters, Lucille Roberts, Ester Mae Taylor, Virgie B. Hall, Lois May, and Martha McWilliams. She will be greatly missed but her memory will be in our hearts and minds forever. Juanita’s memory and love will be most cherished by her son, Anthony McWilliams of Meridian, MS; a beloved niece and caregiver Louchouse McWilliams Morpheus, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many many dear friends.
