Mrs. Katie L. Alford's Obituary
Born January 11, 1961, in Toomsuba, Mississippi, Katie Lee Larkin Alford was the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Jeanette Larkin. She accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Katie was known for her loving, fun, and compassionate spirit. She deeply cherished her sons and family and found immense joy as a grandmother. Her signature, red lipstick,
and fingernails reflected her vibrant personality. Katie had a heart of gold, enjoyed reading, and loved connecting with family over the phone. Katie transitioned peacefully on October 17, 2025, at Baptist
Medical Center East in Montgomery, Alabama.
On February 12, 1988, Katie married Jerry Alford, and together they devoted their lives to their two sons, Jeremy and Marcus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jeanette Larkin; her
brothers John, Monroe, Richard, Willie, Roosevelt, Charles Louis, Carl, Edward Charles, and Jessie Larkin; and her sisters Ada Lee Ward, Leona Gates, Hattie Lee Thompson, and Minnie Lee Edwards.
Katie leaves behind her devoted husband, Jerry Alford; her sons Jeremy and Marcus (Christal) Alford; three cherished grandchildren, Caleb Kellon, Kendall, and Grayson Alford; her mother-in-law Bennie Mae
Alford; her sister Mary Larkin Landrum; brothers Lucious (Lillie), Ray (Shelia), Roy (Elizabeth), Aaron, Wesley (Kathy) Larkin, Alfonzo(Georgia), Isiah(Patricia), and Eddie Lard(Sally); brothers-in-law Alton (Debbie) and Johnny (Vanessa) Alford; sisters-in-law Ruby and Thelma Larkin and Angie Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will treasure her memory.
Katie’s legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live in the hearts of all who know her.
