Mr. Kenneth D. Stennis' Obituary
Kenneth Stennis was called home in the early hours of Thurday, January 4, 2024 at Jeff
Anderson Regional Hopsital, Meridian, MS.
Kenneth, son of the late Calvin Reed Stennis, Jr and the late Ruby Cryer Stennis, was born on March 24, 1952 in Meridian, MS. Three siblings preceded him in death: Lisa Stennis, Carolyn Johnson, and Patricia Stennis Campbell. He is also predeceased in death by his grandparents.
At an early age, Ken accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined St. Mark United Methodist Church, Daleville. He was a joyful and loving man because of his belief in God that was instilled in him at St. Mark. He fiercely loved the Lord - he studied the word fervently, and he talked with God daily. Kenneth had a strong United Methodist faith w h enabled him to study and become
a local lay servant for the United Methodist Church.
After graduating from Meridian High School in1970, Ken married his high school sweetheart, Annie Laura Turner. To this union one daughter was born Kletina Dionne. Briefly, he attended Jackson State Univesity in Jackson, MS. His educational jouney ended due to the birth of his baby girl
He always had a desire to return to JSU but he knew he had to work and take care of his family. After returning home from college, Ken began working with his daddy as isting in establishing Stennis Logging Company. Later in his career, he became an entrepreneur, ventured out with his own logging crew and launched Kenneth Stennis Trucking.
In Kenneth's spare time he enjoyed sitting around with his family and friends telling stories to make everyone laugh. He loved to watch all variety of sports. The only app of his concerned on his cellphone was ESPN.
Kenneth loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Kletina (Paul)
Campbell; his sister, Rita Gail (Homer) Darden; brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Stennis and Ernest Bill Stennis; granddaughters, Korede' Stennis and Kaselyn Houston; grandson, Kristopher Hall; great grandchildren, Karter Hall, Kai Hall, Koree Hall, Kyngslen Davis and Korlyn Davis; a special friend Mae Clayton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly.
