Mrs. Kizzie B. West's Obituary
Kizzie B. Jernigan West was born to Leonard and Rosie Jernigan on September 3, 1929. She accepted Christ and joined the church at an early age. After marrying, she joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Marion. While there, she served faithfully as a choir member, an usher and on the Missionary Board, until her health failed. Often times, you could find her singing, sewing, traveling, taking pictures and raising her ten children or spending times with the members of the Marion eastern Star Unit. She departed this life on November 8, 2019, at Popular Springs Nursing Home. Kizzie was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Willie B. West, Sr.; two sons, Willie West Jr. and Jessie James West; three daughters: Edna Lee Thomas, Catherine Smith and Mary Lee Patrick.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: James (Peggy) West of Anchorage, Alaska and Woodrow West of Meridian; three daughters, Rosie Lee Knighten, Kathy Brown, and Patricia Naylor, all of Meridian, MS; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Bessie Lee West; one son-in-law, Henry James Patrick; one half sister, Minnie Bea of Chattanooga, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
