Mr. Lamar Davis, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Lamar Davis, Sr. was born to the late Joe Davis and Lillian Davis in Meridian, MS on November 21, 1949. He attended the Meridian Public School System attending T.J. Harris High School and upon completion he enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Airman and was Honorably Discharged on July, 15, 1969. He was dedicated and a loyal warehouse foreman for McRae's Department Store and JT Morgan Tile of Meridian, Mississippi for over 40 years. He joined Greater Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS at a early age under the leadership of Reverend W.M Weatherspoon in May 4, 1962. Lamar was faithful in his Sunday School class, usher board, male Chorus and being a trustee. Lamar found the love of his life, Mrs. Ether Jean Harris-Davis, and married her on January 1, 1972. He departed this life on November 10, 2013 at Rush Foundation Hospital at 8:00AM He leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife: Ether Jean Davis, of Toomsuba, MS, three sons; Dewayne Davis (Angela) of Meridian, MS, Command Sergeant Major Ricky Davis (Tinice) of North Carolina, Lamar Davis Jr. (Zeakethia) of Hattiesburg, MS, two daughters of Cypress, Texas; Kandis Ruffin (Frank) and Tearsa Roberts (Albert), a loving mother Lillian Davis, of Meridian, MS, three brothers; Willie James Davis (Lucinda) of Russell, MS, Frank James Davis of Florida, Greg Davis (Carol) of Arizona, two sisters; Jo Ann Brown and Rhonda Scott (Eric) both of Meridian, MS. Eighteen grandchildren one great grand child and a host of niece.', nephews and other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
