Mr. Lamatris L. Watts' Obituary
The journey of life for Lamatris Lamar Watts begin in the wee hours of night on August 22, 1974 at
H. C. Watkins Hospital in Quitman, MS. Before he was to celebrate his 2 birthday, he was bitten by a mosquito, contracted an infectious disease, admitted to two different hospitals before being airlifted to the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. While medical staff prepared for take-out, the family was given the news "that if he made it to Jackson alive it would be a miracle." The Lord granted the family of Lamatris " a miracle" and added 46 plus years to his life.
Meatchy or Big Meatchy, as he was affectionately known, was really one of a kind. He had a love for cars/truck that begin in his early childhood. Before the age of 8 years old, he was sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle - driving independently without any assistance. His passion for driving, fixing cars and painting cars continue into his teenage years, which prompted his aunt JoAnn to buy him his first "wrecker truck". And with that wrecker truck, Meatchy launched his own entrepreneur enterprise down on County Road 262.
Meatchy enjoyed sitting around eating and just spending time with family members. Asking weird questions and then answering the questions himself if he didn't like your answers. He loved wearing his dark shades and you rarely saw him without a pair on his eyes. He loved his family, and he was extremely fun of his great nephews the twins, which he nicknamed "radio and brobro". Meatchy had a very unusual laugh that will be dearly missed by some many many many people.
On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in the early morning hours, and in accordance with God's divine law, Lamatris journey of life ended at 12:55 am at H. C. Watkins Hospital, in Quitman, MS.
