Mr. Larry "Ted" Burks' Obituary
Larry Burks (Ted) was the third child born to the late Rev. Tony and Delphine Burks. He was born March 31, 1951 in Lena, Mississippi. Both parents preceded him in death along with his oldest brother James Earl Burks. Larry attended Harris High School in 198. he confessed Christ at an early age and moved to Flint, Michigan in 1969 seeking a better job. He was employed with Fisher body for many years until his health began to fail him. Larry received his wings Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan. He leaves to cherish his memories: his former wife Mae Ester Burks; one son Gregory Ramson, Flint, Michigan; four daughters, Tondalya (James) Crain, Desota, Texas; Pamela Martin, Keena Carpenter, Meridian, MS; Danya Burks, Desota, TX; four sisters Dorothy Burks, Meridian, MS, Jeanette (Zack) Betts, Toomsuba, MS, Carolyn Burks-Durr, Meridian, MS; and Jacqueline B. Smith, Jackson, MS; three brothers Cleveland (Carolyn), Tony (Tonga) Burks, both of Meridian, MS; Ray Charles Burks, Flint, Michigan; and three aunts, one uncle, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
